Bangor Planning Board to Hear Post Office Plans 

Plans for a new post office in Bangor continue to move along. The Postal Service goes before the city’s planning board Tuesday night.Last month the board turned down plans to open a new post office in the former District Court building in downtown Bangor because of concerns over parking and pedestrian safety.Tuesday night the board is expected to hear a plan to reconfigure parking and build a new loading dock at that site.The lease for the current post office in the federal building on Harlow Street runs out at the end of May.The planning board meeting is at seven Tuesday night at City Hall.The board will also hold a public hearing on plans for a new McDonalds across from the current McDonalds on Main Street.
