You’ll be hard pressed to find someone who hasn’t seen the movie or read the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”Now Charlie’s chocolate factory has made it’s way into Bangor! The Penobscot Youth Theatre is taking that story to the stage at the Penobscot Theatre in downtown Bangor.Their production is an adaptation of the book. The group has been working very hard since January to put the show together.Penobscot Theatre art director Scott Levy says this production presented some unique challenges: “We’ve never had a youth theater production with so many people in it before. We have 25 kids on stage including 4 year olds. So, not only do we have the largest group of kids on the stage, but also the youngest we’ve ever had as well.”You can buy your golden tickets for this show at the door. Children’s tickets are $5, adults are $10.Again, it’s at the Penobscot Theatre in downtown Bangor Friday night at 6. On Saturday shows are at 1 o’clock and 6 o’clock. And the final performance is Sunday at 1pm.
