I know the competition is going to be pretty good out there obviosuly, they’re the best in the country.”Since breaking the 4:00 mile back in February, Riley Masters has become a celebrity in running circles.”It’s been great. The Maine running community is pretty tight and pretty close knit so people have been coming up to me and saying congratulations so its been nice.”After he runs in nationals this weekend, Riley hopes to relax but not for too long.”I plan on taking a little bit of a break. It’s been a long season but then I guess I got to get ready for outdoor and get focused on the 5k and the 1500.”With the weather improving, Riley is loking forward to outdoor track.”I enjoy outdoor quite a bit. It’s a different atmosphere than indoor. Obviously it’s a lot eaasier to run outdoor than indoor. There are less turns on the track. I enjoy outdoor more than indoor track.”Riley is only a sophomore at Maine and is a former runner at Bangor High. He is proud of his accomplishments so far.In Orono, Prescott Rossi. WABI TV5 Sports.
