Vigil in Memory of Damien Lynn

Folks filled Cascade Park in Bangor this evening for a candlelight vigil held in memory of 1-year-old Damien Lynn who police say was murdered last month. At the start of the vigil many quietly listen and reflected as music played in the background. There was a prayer service, and then folks were given a chance to share their thoughts. Some told personal stories of domestic violence, while others who knew Damien shared memories.Damien’s aunt spoke briefly at the vigil on behalf of her family. She says they want to thank everyone for their support. She also had this message, “We ask of you, if you have little ones, older ones, it doesn’t matter how old they are, hug them, kiss them, love them, because you don’t know what tomorrow can ever bring.”Event organizers planned the vigil in part to raise awareness about domestic violence.
