March 6, 2010 – York vs Brewer – Boy’s Ice Hockey 

Three years ago, the Brewer Witches were the champions in Class B Ice Hockey. After two years in Class A, the Witches today are back in the Class B state final and this time taking on western champions York.Brewer won it all back when this year’s senior class were freshman. York looking for its first state title in hockey.In the first, York dominating play. Jared Clausen to Anthony Figlioli. Yet, Eric White the pretty glove save.End of the first, Brewer on the power play. Alec Pacheco left alone in front goes top shelf and its 1-0 Witches.In the early second, the Wildcats even things up. Craig Decato gathers the puck in the zone and gets it to Paddy Murphy who ties it up at 1.Brewer would take the lead 2-1 later in the second.Then, in the third, Brewer ices it. Again on the power play, Nick Risser. The beautiful move on the end line. Goes stick side for the goal. Brewer wins the state title with a 3-1 win. It’s the second title in school history.In the Class A final, Biddeford wins their third title in the last four years with a 3-0 win over Waterville.
