It was a warm welcome to the Bangor International Airport for Jason Fonseca a registered nurse about to make a trip to Haiti. His parents drove from Enfield, Connecticut to Surprise him. A graduate from the University of Maine at Orono, Fonseca currently works at Eastern Maine Medical Center, but decided to offer his help after hearing about the devastation in Haiti on the radio. He says, “It’s going to be scary and sad and exciting all at the same time, I really don’t know what to expect, I don’t even know where I’m going to be working. I could be at the hospital or one of the 18 mobil clinics, they told me I’ll find out when I get there.”Fonseca’s wife was also there to see him off, she says she’s proud of her husband. His family can expect Fonseca home in about 2 weeks.
