Some local college students are working hard to organize a concert to raise money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis. It’s called “The Acoustic Showcase to Benefit the National M.S. Society, Maine Chapter” – or AS4MS, for short. The concert is put on by WHSN radio in Bangor, which is made up of students from the New England School of Communications. This year it’ll take to the stage April 3rd at The Gracie Theater at Husson University. Popular local band The Rustic Overtones will headline the event.WHSN Program Director Mark Nason says it’s designed to offer more than just a fantastic night of music. “Everyone knows, well, I’ve heard the term MS but what is Multiple Sclerosis? So we work with the Maine chapter of the MS Society, we’ll have a guest speaker there who lives with MS an it’s a night where we want them to enjoy themselves but also learn a little something about it as well.”The students learn a lot, too. Kids studying audio, video, graphic design and marketing all work together to organize the night.Again, the concert is Saturday, April 3rd. It starts at 7:30 p.m.Tickets are $20 and you can buy them at any Bull Moose location in Maine.
