The Maine Men’s basketball team needs wins in its last two games to reach the 20-win plateau for the first time since the 03-04 season. Tonight the Black Bears wrapped up their last home game of the year and welcomed in the Albany Great Danes.Before the game, the team recognized its one and only senior, Junior Bernal. A great career at Maine. He’s the only player in school history to have over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists, and 150 steals.After the ceremony, there was a game to be played. Albany jumped out to a 14-5 lead after hitting six of their first seven shots. Brett Gifford with the bucket for Albany.Maine Coach Ted Woodward called timeout and Maine responded. Murphy Burnatowski, the reigning rookie of the week in America East, hits the trey. He had a game-high 20 points. Maine led by four at the half and cruised from there. The Black Bears win their final home game of the season. They defeat Albany 66 to 53.
