Ski Resorts Packed This Past Weekend

This past Martin Luther King weekend scored packed ski slopes. Executive Director of the Ski Maine Association, Greg Sweester, reports full parking lots, busy base lodges, heavy volume on ski trails anywhere from Sugarloaf to the Camden Snow Bowl ski resorts.Sugarloaf posted a 93 percent occupancy rate, Lost Valley were all out of skis and snow boards, and Saddleback reported record attendance. High attendance rates were also given a boost due to fresh snowfall on Monday. Cross-country ski centers were just as delighted with the ample snow and seasonable temperatures. Officials say parking lots were full over the holiday weekend with nearly all of Maine’s Nordic trails open.
