Cianbro Lands $150 Million Bridge Contracts

About $150 million worth of work is on its way to Cianbro Corporation to build bridges in Connecticut and Massachusetts.The Pittsfield-based construction company recently landed two contracts. CEO Peter Vigue says the $105 million Connecticut job will replace an Amtrack railroad bridge that’s more than a century old. That work in East Lyme is expected to begin in April. The second contract, worth $45 million, will build a new bridge in Haverhill, Massachusetts, which crosses the Merrimack River.No word yet on how many jobs the projects will create.
