Bangor Food Drive 

Local volunteers delivered food Tuesday from a food drive held over the weekend in Bangor.Organizing for America volunteers, students from UMaine, The Maine Human Rights Coalition, and Democratic activists collected almost 300-dollars in food over the weekend.They delivered that food to Hammond Street Congregational Church Tuesday.The food drive is part of the nationwide Day of Service events, called to action by President Obama. Maine’s events were in honor of Martin Luther King Junior.Farmington, Cushing, and Thomaston also held food drives in honor of the Day of Service.Portland held a blood drive.
