Opening Statements Begin Trial For Fatal South Portland Shooting 

Opening statements are scheduled for today in the manslaughter trial of a Skowhegan man accused of fatally shooting a friend last April.Bruce Lavalle-Davidson is charged with killing 50-year-old Fred Wilson at Wilson’s home in South Portland.Prosecutors say Lavalle-Davidson was reckless when he shot Wilson. His attorney claims Lavalle-Davidson didn’t know the gun was loaded and the shooting was a tragic accident.Jury selection was completed Friday in Cumberland County Superior Court in Portland.
