Belfast Judge Sets Cummings Free

Amber Cummings left a Belfast courtroom today a free woman amidst cheers from around 50 supporters. Earlier today Superior Court Justice Jeffrey Hjelm imposed a suspended sentence on Cummings who was accused of shooting her husband, James Cummings, in the head while he slept in Belfast back in December of 2007.The death of James Cummings caught the eye of the FBI after Nazi memorabilia and instructions on how to make a radioactive dirty bomb were found in their home. The defense contended that James Cummings was a white supremacist who sexually abused his wife for years. Amber Cummings did not address the court but several mental health experts who evaluated her urged Judge Hjelm not to send her to prison.
