Search Continues for China Teen

The Maine Warden’s Service has enlisted the help of more than a dozen snowmobile clubs to help search for a missing 18-year-old snowmobiler. Officials say Richard “Shaw” Jackson was last seen Friday when he headed home in the China Lake area after getting his machine repaired. Officials say Jackson had a full tank of gas, enough to travel about 120 miles, but he wasn’t dressed for a long ride. On Monday, Wardens focused their efforts and resources on searching China Lake. Two planes searched by air along with a Forest Ranger helicopter. The 4,000-acre lake has thin ice and open water. Officials don’t know if Jackson tried to cross the lake on his way home. Anyone who may have seen Jackson after 9 pm is asked to call the Maine State Police in Augusta at 624-7076
