Husson University President Spends Last Day on Campus

Husson University President William Beardsley spent his final day on campus Thursday. He is stepping down as president after 22 years.During Beardsley tenure the school has grown from a school of business and a nursing program to having seven schools.Beardsley says he is considering a number of options on what to do next. But he says he wants to have the opportunity to make an impact on the economic development of the state of Maine and he says this final day is a bittersweet one.” Every time I do something it’s for the last time. Whether it’s getting together with students or meeting with faculty or solving some kind of problem in human resources. It’s that sense of tying things up and I’ve never been somewhere this long.”Dr. Robert Clark was named the new president in October. His first day will be Friday.
