Heavy Trucks off Secondary Roads 

President Barack Obama has signed a bill that allows trucks weighing more than 80,000 pounds to travel I-95 north of Augusta.Since 1994, trucks over 80,000 pounds have had to exit I-95 at Augusta and travel on secondary roads through towns and cities, raising concerns about safety and wear and tear on state roads.Sen. Susan Collins said Wednesday that there will be a study of the one-year pilot program’s impact on safety, commerceand wear-and-tear.
