Health Care Policy Luncheon in Bangor 

As the conversation continues in Washington about federal health reform, some people are leaning on local ways to keep pace with the debate.Folks gathered in Bangor to hear perspectives from the Maine Heritage Policy Center.The center offers lunch sessions every month on different issues, to present their research.CEO Tarren Bragdon says even though people are busy with the holidays right now, they’re still urging them to take the time to learn about President Obama’s plan.”What we have looked at is, what is the impact on premiums. What type of health plans would be available for individuals and how will that drive them into higher cost plans,” Bragdon says. “And then also, what will be the cost to taxpayers with these new expanded programs.”The policy center also is encouraging people to pass on their opinions to Maine’s U.S.senators.Maine Heritage Policy Center
