A water rescue was made with Orono police officers as well as the fire department and Bangor rescue. Divers in the water found the Ford Escort with deceased man in the driver’s seat. “Initially we treated it as a water rescue and thought maybe there would be someone that needed help inside the vehicle, and once we determined the victim was deceased we turned into a recovery maine state police have been contacted and they do have a detective on scene just to confirm there’s nothing suspicious,” Said Captain Josh Ewing of the Orono P.D.Police have not yet determined the cause of the accident. The body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office.
