Waldo County General Hospital Receives National Award 

The Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast just received a big award.The hospital was recognized as one of the top three rural hospitals nationally by the Leapfrog Group.Which represents many of the nation’s largest corporations and public agencies that buy health benefits.The Leapfrog Hospital Survey is the only national, public comparison of hospitals on key issues of quality, safety and efficiency.Executive Director of WCGH says the award speaks highly of their staff.”I think it honors this hospital and the hard work that all my co-workers and medical staff members of the hospital have done over the years to receive this recognition.”Almost 1,300 hospitals across the United States are part of the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, including 36 in Maine.One of the other two rural hospitals recognized was Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, Maine.
