Rain Causes Flooding 

Thursday’s rainfall and warm temperatures caused a change in plans for some folks.Emergency officials lined the water covered plaza parking lot in downtown Bangor on Thursday.Cars had to be removed from the area by the local fire department to avoid damage.Some vehicles were knee deep in water before they were moved.At least 4 surrounding buildings had some leakage to the inside.Fire crews and four public works teams were on the scene to prevent any water related accidents. “You have a lot of people that will try to drive through there and they can actually become stalled and we don’t know what’s underneath the water whether it’s pot hole or catch that’s been opened up,” Said Assistant Fire Chief Rick Cheverie.The weather also caused power problems for Bangor Hydro.Officials there say it was high winds that caused more than 1,000 outages Thursday morning.
