Smart Grid Technology To Help State 

In order to modernize the state’s electrical grid, Maine is going to get nearly $96 million.Money recieved is part of Barack Obama’s $3.4 billion national investment in Smart Grid technology. The money will be used to expand the use of smart-grid technology to all residential, commercial and industrial customers of Central Maine Power, about 650,000 meters.The grids will enable secure control systems for substations and generation facilities, and automate distribution, transmission grids, in-home displays and digitally controlled appliances.
