Ending Hunger Walking Tour Starts this Week

An annual walk across the state to raise money to end hunger in Maine is set to begin later this week.The Maine Credit Union’s Ending Hunger Walking Tour is getting ready for it’s eighth year. As part of the tour, Brenda Davis, who runs Crossroads Ministries Food Pantry in Old Town, will cover the state on foot. This year, she’s set to walk up to 750 miles and visit 62-communities, from Kittery to Madawaska.At each credit union where she stops, she’ll collect donations for the food campaign.Maine credit unions are expected to contribute 30-thousand dollars to the walking tour. The tour gets started Thursday, with a pre-walk celebration set for Monday morning in Old Town.
