Former Umaine hockey player Martin Kariya will be out at least four weeks after he suffered a concussion playing for Dinamo Riga of the Kontinental Hockey League. Kariya was hit from behind and hit his head hard on the ice. League officials are coming under fire after the medical personnel on hand didn’t react quick enough for some. Kariya spent the night in the hospital. Almost a year ago another played died in the KHL and his medical attention was also called into question.
