(AP) – Police say they have recovered $75,000 worth of jewelry, silver coins, cameras, electronics and other valuables believed stolen in a rash of burglaries in central Maine over the past several months. Kennebec County Sheriff Randall Liberty said Thursday the items were recovered from a vehicle and an Augusta home this week. He said many of the items were family heirlooms, including jewelry and old military medals that had been passed down through generations. Deputies have arrested 36-year-old Luke Greenlaw and his girlfriend, 27-year-old Sarah Vitale, of Augusta on theft and other charges. The couple was arrested Sunday when they attempted to trade in some of the stolen items at a Hallowell pawn shop. Liberty said the burglaries were committed to support the suspects’ drug habits.
