A Massachusetts man, with a long criminal record for drug violations, is in custody today after Kennebec County Sheriff’s found him in possession of crack.Authorities responded to a call on Wednesday reporting drug activity in a home on Windsor Street in Randolph. When they arrived they found Shahen Edwards of Massachusetts asleep in one of the rooms. A Detectives and a Probation Officer awoke Edwards and found him in possesion of nearly 2 grams of crack, and 3 Vicodin tablets on him.Edwards is currently on proabation in Massachusetts and wasn’t supposed to leave the state without permission, which he did not have.He is being held at the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office, bail has been set at $2000. Edwards has a long history of drug arrests. He was charged with Possesion of Cocaine in 1999, and Possesion of Cocaine within 1000 feet of a school zone in 2000 and 2002. He was also charged with Possesion with Intent to Distribute in 2002. All of those arrests happened in Massachusetts.
