Man from Waterville Killed in Crash in Fairfield 

An 89-year-old man known around Waterville as the long-time clerk of a cigarette store has died from injuries following a car wreck in Fairfield.Police say Robert Cote’s car collided with a dump truck at the intersection of High Street and Western Avenue Monday morning.Police say it appears Cote failed to stop at a stop sign on High Street. Cote was conscious when he was pulled from his car but died a few hours later at the hospital. Cote worked at Joe’s Smoke Shop in Waterville for 31 years before he retired.
