McCarthy wins Bangor Labor Day Race 

The 47th version of the Bangor Labor Day road race.120 runners took on the five mile course. The race starts near the Paul Bunyan statue on Maine street and winds through downtown to start.Then its up a big hill from Valley Ave to Ohio Street and then up another hill near Stephen Kings house.That’s where Erik McCarthy took over and never gave up the lead. His winning time was 26 1/2 minutes.Not bad for a guy that ran 37 miles just two days ago. and didn’t run at all in August.Adam Goode was 2nd followed by Andrew Goupee and Erik Rudolph……The top female finisher was Amanda Labelle of Rockland. Her time was 32 minutes.. she was 16th overall. Liz Brunton was two spots behind her followed by Kristina O’Donnell.
