At least two people are hospitalized after a chain-reaction crash on the Interstate near Medway.
It happened just after 8pm Saturday t in the northbound lanes, just south of Exit 244.
State Police say 9 cars were involved in the crash.
A brief snow shower caused glare ice on a knoll near the Medway rest area.
As cars crested the knoll, they started crashing.
Several of the cars were totalled.
Four people were transported to the hospital: one by helicopter to EMMC, the other three by ambulance to Millinocket Regional Hospital.
One victim suffered serious internal injuries, but at last check was in stable condition.
The northbound lanes of the Interstate were closed for close to three hours while crews cleaned up the wreckage and investigated.
