The company announced today they are shutting down one of their paper machines starting on Monday.
They say the shut down will last for about a month. They are encouraging employees to take vacation time if they have it.
140 hourly employees will be affected as well as several salaried workers.
The company told town officials they are doing this to manage their cash flow since they have a shortage of orders.
Just last year, Katahdin Paper shut down the Millinocket mill, putting about 200 people out of work.
