A grand jury in Kennebec County handed up five more indictments against 21-year-old Daniel Fortune on Thursday.
Fortune is accused of breaking into the home of a former lawmaker last May.
William Guerrette junior and his 10-year-old daughter were beaten and hacked with a machete, suffering critical injuries.
Among the new counts against Fortune, elevated aggravated assault.
Fortune has now been indicted on 14 charges, including attempted murder.
He’s already pleaded ":not guilty": to 9 of them.
Fortune is also accused of stealing more than $111,000 from the Guerrette home in 2007.
A trial date has not been set.
