Governor Baldacci has signed into law a supplemental state budget that lawmakers enacted earlier this week.
The emergency measure is designed to bridge a $166,000,000 gap between projected revenue and spending through June.
":Tough decisions have been made we know there are only a few months in this fiscal year. My hope is that with what we have we’ll be able to end out this year in a balance.": Said the Governor Thursday.
Now lawmakers have a bigger challenge, as the focus shifts to the governor’s proposed $6,000,000,000 budget for the next two years.
