An Israeli foreign office official says President Obama’s
special envoy to the Middle East is expected in Israel on Wednesday
for talks on reviving peace negotiations.
The official says Mitchell will meet with Israel’s prime
minister and other officials, as well as the Palestinian president
and prime minister in the West Bank.
There was no immediate confirmation from U.S. officials. The
Israeli official spoke yesterday on condition of anonymity because
there had not yet been an official announcement from Washington.
