Husson President Steps Down

Beardsley announced Thursday he’ll leave Husson at the end of 2009. He’s served as president and CEO since 1987. He’s also the CEO of the New England School of Communications.

Beardsley told Husson Board Chair Arthur Fuller in a letter that Husson has momentum and strong leadership and this is a good time for him to hand over the reigns.

Fuller says Beardsley has strengthened the university’s finances, expanded enrollments and established a number of new schools during his tenure. He adds that Beardsley is an outstanding president who’ll be missed.

Beardsley says after he wraps up at Husson, he wants to focus on improving Maine’s economy. He currently chairs the Maine Development Foundation and serves on the board of the Finance Authority of Maine.
