Former Owners of Holtrachem File Another Appeal

The former owner of Holtrachem is filing another appeal after a judge refused to stop a clean up that could reach 100-million dollars.

This time they’re appealing to the Maine Board of Environmental Protection.

Last month a US District Judge denied Mallinkrodt’s request for a temporary restraining order that would have blocked the clean-up order.

In late November the Maine DEP ordered the company to remove an estimated 360-thousand tons of mercury contaminated soil from the Holtrachem site in Orrington.
