A fast-moving storm dumped up to a
half-foot of snow across southern and coastal Maine before moving
out of the state.
The snow made for slippery driving and led to parking bans on
Sunday, but there were no reports of major accidents. Snow tallies
included 6 inches in Scarborough and Southwest Harbor, 6 inches in
Oxford and Kittery, 4 inches in Lewiston and Ellsworth.
Snowfall was greater to the south across parts of Massachusetts.
In Derry, N.H., a 59-vehicle pileup during the snowstorm shut
down northbound lanes of Interstate 95 and sent a dozen people to
