A Bangor woman has been sentenced to almost 10 years in prison…for a number of federal drug charges.
Court records show that in March of last year, 26-year old Nicole Martin was stopped on by police while driving from Portland to Bangor.
Officers found 21 bags of heroin in her purse, as well as cocaine, and Oxycontin pills.
Martin admitted to police she’d been selling the drugs for about a month.
Federal Prosecutors say in light of the fact that Martin had at least two prior state and federal narcotics trafficking convictions, she received a sentence under the guidelines of a career offender.
As a consequence, she was handed a higher sentence.
After she is released from jail, Martin will be on probation for six years and has a special assessment of $300.
