The number of calls jumped by 1,100 in the past year.
Police say some of that is because of a computer system change in August, but it doesn’t explain that many more calls.
As for the types of crimes being committed, the numbers show a mixed bag.
Simple assaults are down, but the number of assaults with weapons went up.
Thefts were down slightly, but police say burglaries increased by 25%.
The amount of cases solved by Ellsworth police officers remained about 70%, despite the increase in calls.
Police expect to be even busier down the road as the area continues to grow.
