They are scheduled to arrive Saturday at Bangor International Airport before continuing on to Fort Carson, Colorado, for out-processing.
Capt. Shanon Cotta, a guard spokesman, says the 130 members of charlie company, 126th aviation regiment, will get to spend a couple of hours with family and friends during their stop.
The company, nicknamed ":Black Bears,": flew more than three thousand hours of rescue missions throughout Iraq and evacuated more than 670 patients.
The unit completes out-processing next week, but the date of its return to maine has not been released.
