An accident on I-95 shut down traffic for a time in Bangor Tuesday night, but it could have ended much worse.
Witnesses told police a Ford Mustang had just entered the highway when the driver lost control.
The car started spinning across the highway into the path of a tractor trailer.
The driver of the tractor trailer swerved and avoided a major collision, but did hit the Mustang before he ending up in the median.
Police say the mustang is totaled and there’s front end damage to the truck, but both drivers are okay.
the truck was hauling a full load of firewood, and the southbound lanes had to be closed while authorities cleared up the mess. The road was re-openned just before 2 o’clock Wednesday morning.
The incident is still under investigation.
