Pearl Harbor Day 

Flagsflew at half-staffacross Maineon Sunday to mark the 67th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

In respect for the victims of Pearl Harbor, Gov. John Baldacci ordered that the United States flag and the State of Maine flag be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on December 7th.

More than 2,400 Americans died and nearly 1,180 injured when Japanese fighters bombed and sank 12 naval vessels and heavily damaged nine others in the 1941 attack.

A national Pearl Harbor commemoration was heldin Honolulu.
