Fern Labbe lived alone in a duplex on Ridgewood Drive.
She was discovered by a home healthcare worker who was going to check on her around 9:30 Monday morning.
Labbe was dressed only in her nightgown.
Authorities weren’t able to determine how long she’d been outside but a Sergeant said it appeared she had frozen to death. Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said, ":We’re not sure at this time if it was some sort of a medical condition that brought on this activity or if it was a situation where through some sequence of events she just found herself locked out of her home and unable to rouse one of the neighbors to render assistance.":
There was no evidence of foul play.
The Medical Examiner’s Office has taken over the investigation and they’ll determine the exact cause of death.
