Calais Man Sentenced on Gun Charges 

A man from Calaishas been sentenced to a year and a day in prison for

transferring a firearm to a nonresident of Maine during an

undercover investigation aimed at curtailing the flow of guns from

Maine to Canada.

A federal judge in Bangor also sentenced 34-year-old Bruce

Thibeault to two

years of supervised release and a $2,000 fine.

Three other men also were charged in connection with the

investigation by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and

Explosives and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Thibeault, who pleaded guilty in June, is scheduled to begin his

prison sentence Dec. 22.
