Windy Weather Causes Outages

About 1,500 electric customers were left without service as high winds raced across the state, but more outages could be coming when Maine faces a second weekend bout with wind.

Bangor hydro Electric Co. said 1,047 customers were without power at about 11 a.m. Sunday, down from nearly 6,600 at 4 am.

The bulk of the remaining outages are in Washington County.

Central Maine Power Co. reports 550 outages, but says only some are related to Saturday night’s wind while others have more routine causes.
