Maine Public Safety Department spokesman Steve McCausland says firefighters responded to a call at 8:00 a.m. Monday at a home on River Road.
The victim, 49-year-old Michael Snowman of Hartland, was setting up hoses outside when he experienced difficulties. Snowman was taken to Sebasticook Valley Hospital and later transferred via LifeFlight Helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center, where he died from an apparent heart attack.
McCausland says no one was at home at the time of the fire.
Investigators from the fire marshal’s office say the fire was caused by an overheated electrical outlet.
