They took part in a mock election, casting ballots just like their parents will do next week.
Some of the students gathered at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor for their lesson in democracy.
The secretary of states office says the mock election enables students from elementary grades through high school to engage in election related activities, and reinforces the importance of participating in the election process.
As for the results.
The students elected Barrak Obama for president, and will send Senator Susan Collins back to the senate.
Congressman Michael Michaud would also return to Washington if the kids had their way, and would be joined by Charles Summers from district 1.
The beverage tax would be repealed, and a casino wouldn’t be coming to oxford county.
The students also said okay to question three, which will improve Maine’s water supply.
