Maine electric companies are making progress restoring service to customers affected by high-caused outages as the weather improves.
About 5,000 electric customers remain without service — less than half the total earlier Sunday.
Central Maine Power Co. says about 1,500 customers are without service.
The hardest-hit service areas are Fairfield and Rockland.
Other customers are affected in scattered areas.
As of late Sunday night, Bangor Hydro Electric Co. said986 customerswere without power. More than half of those affected are in Hancock County, with most other interruptions reported in Penobscot and Washington counties.
