34-year-old Jeremy Hart pleaded guilty Wednesday to adequate provocation manslaughter.
He shot his wife Kristen in their home last November.
Assistant Attorney General Andrew Benson asked for a reduced charge, though, because he says Hart was in a fit of rage after walking in a bedroom and finding his wife with another man.
Hart could have spent life in prison for murder.
Instead benson says he’ll ask for 15-years in prison with a minimum of four years.
Hart is out on bail until his sentencing, which is expected to take place early next month.
