A STANDISH MAN WHO LED POLICE ON A HIGH SPEED CHASE THROUGH THE BANGOR AREA WITH AN 18-MONTH-OLD GIRL AND HER MOTHER IN THE CAR IS GOING TO PRISON…

A JUDGE SENTENCED 23-YEAR-OLD ANTHONY ALFIERO TO TWO-AND-A-HALF YEARS.

HE PLEADED GUILTY YESTERDAY TO CHARGES THAT INCLUDE ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A CHILD AND ELUDING POLICE.

STATE POLICE SAY ALFIERO GAVE THEM A FALSE NAME WHEN HE WAS PULLED OVER ON THE INTERSTATE IN JULY, THEN SPED OFF.

THE CHASE ENDED ON A DEAD-END STREET IN VEAZIE WHEN ALFIERO ABANDONED THE CAR AND JUMPED INTO THE PENOBSCOT RIVER.

THE CAR WITH ALFIERO’S GIRLFRIEND AND HER INFANT DAUGHTER INSIDE KEPT ROLLING UNTIL IT HIT TREES.

THEY WERE NOT INJURED.

A 44-YEAR-OLD MAN FROM CARIBOU IS GOING TO PRISON FOR SELLING POT.

ANTHONY CAPAROTTA WAS SENTENCED TUESDAY IN BANGOR TO 68-MONTHS IN PRISON.

HE WAS ALSO FINED NEARLY 18-THOUSAND DOLLARS.

CAPAROTTA WAS CONVICTED BY A JURY IN JULY.
