Greene was arrested Thursday on a warrant that was issued on September 25th. He was wanted for failure to appear in court.
Greene resigned his city council seat in June after pleading no contest to forgery and theft. He served five days in jail on that charge.
The former mayor was accused of forging a signature on an invoice for $9,000 to pay him for the public display of nine portraits of past city mayors.
He was also charged with theft in May for shoplifting a cart load of groceries from the Hannaford store on Broadway.
