Help for Bullett the dog

BULLET WAS NEARLY KILLED LAST MONTH WHEN HE WAS HIT BY A CAR IN CHERRYFIELD…
NOW, THE COMMUNITY WANTS TO MAKE SURE BULLET GETS BETTER – FOR THE SAKE OF AIR FORCE CAPTAIN CHRIS SNELL…
IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE MORE THAN TWO WEEKS AGO, BULLET WAS FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE….
HIS OWNER, CAPTAIN CHRIS SNELL, IS SERVING HIS THIRD TOUR OF DUTY IN IRAQ…. FOR NOW, BULLET LIVES WITH SNELL’S PARENTS, RICK AND BECKY, IN BANGOR…. RECENTLY, HE WENT WITH THEM TO CHERRYFIELD WHERE RICK SNELL PASTORS A CHURCH….
DURING THE SERVICE, BULLET WRIGGLED OUT OF AN OPEN TRUCK WINDOW AND WAS HIT BY A CAR…
&quot:Somebody traveling through town – actually a gentleman who lives out of state and to his surprise the dog just bolted from behind a hedge.&quot:
THE DRIVER AND OTHERS STOPPED, BUT IT WAS PAM GEEL AND HER DAUGHTER APRIL – CAREGIVERS AT THE ARK ANIMAL SHELTER – WHO RACED BULLET TO THE EMERGENCY CLINIC IN BREWER…
&quot:As bad as he was, the pool of blood he was laying in, I didn’t think he’d survive the trip to Brewer. I mean he was so beaten up.&quot:
THE DOCTOR HAD TO REBUILD ONE OF BULLET’S LEGS – ADDING THOUSAND OF DOLLARS TO HIS VET BILLS…
BUT FOLKS IN THE CHERRYFIELD AREA HAVE ALREADY COLLECTED MORE THAN 14-HUNDRED DOLLARS TO HELP…
&quot:When they found out that the dog belongs to a soldier serving overseas, they felt compelled and we’re overwhelmed, excitingly overwhelmed.&quot:
&quot:To see this all unfold and see a community and people rally around, it’s heart warming.&quot:
&quot:It’s been a big thing for a lot of people, they have family in iraq and not only do they feel like they’re helping the dog, they feel like they’re helping somebody else over there in iraq.&quot:
SCHOOL KIDS IN HARRINGTON AND STEUBEN ARE EVEN WRITING LETTERS TO CAPTAIN SNELL…
BECKY SAYS HER SON IS BLOWN AWAY BY THE SUPPORT….
&quot:He just cannot believe that total strangers would do this for him. And he of course is worried about the money, every e-mail, every phone call and we’re just basically telling him, you know let the people of the country take care of you. Because you’re taking care of us.&quot:
THIS SATURDAY, THE ARK ANIMAL SHELTER IS PUTTING ON A DOG SHOW TO RAISE MONEY FOR BULLET. IT’S A 2 O’CLOCK AT THE SHELTER ON BARBER LANE. THE ENTRY FEE IS $5.
